PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein a news flash is not displayed and important news is missed, due to a state where only recorded video images are being displayed on a television screen or the like, while video images or the like recorded on a recording medium, such as video, are viewed without viewing a broadcast program, even when a news flash is broadcasted in the broadcast program. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a contents output device capable of outputting contents, while receiving the broadcasted waves, where when it is detected that a news flash is contained in the received broadcast radio waves, flash data constituting the news flash are demultiplexed, extracted and outputted, while being superimposed on the contents that is being outputted.
