PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manual seat reclining device capable of single-step adjustment of the angle of inclination of a seat back, and strong against external force from the seat back. SOLUTION: The seat reclining device comprises a first gear body 2 having a first inner toothed part 2a fixed to the seat cushion side; a second gear body 3 having a second inner toothed part 3a having a smaller diameter and smaller number of teeth than the first inner toothed part 2a, and fixed to the seat back; four planet gears 6 having first and second toothed parts 6a and 6b engaged with first and second internally toothed parts 2a and 3a respectively; gear plates 9 disposed movably in the radial direction to support two adjacent planet gears 6; a spring member 16 to energize and hold two gear plates 9 at prescribed positions while connecting the two gear plates 9; and a control part 8 in an axis O1 to be displaced in the axial direction between a locking position to prevent the revolution of the planet gears 6 and a lock-releasing position to allow the revolution of the planet gears 6.
