EYEDROP COMPOSITION FOR SUSTAINED RELEASE, AND METHOD OF PREPARING THE SAME

An eyedrop composition for sustained release is provided to minimize stickiness and loss of eyedrops due to inhibiting the drug from streaming down by adding carboxyvinyl polymer to conventional eyedrops, extend functioning time and improve moisturizing effects. An eyedrop composition for sustained release comprises a ophthalmologic agent and a carboxyvinyl polymer in a weight ratio of 1:0.1 to 1:10 and has viscosity of 300-1000cP, wherein the ophthalmologic agent is artificial tears containing at least one selected from hyaluronic acid, sodium hyaluronic acid, hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, povidone, sodium chondroitin sulfate and sodium carboxymethylcellulose and the carboxyvinyl polymer is carbomer 934P, carbomer 940 or carbomer 941.
