A sporting apparatus control device using an optical sensor is provided to control automatically a sporting apparatus without operating a control switch, by sensing periodical motions of a user with a projector and a light receiving unit and generating a sporting apparatus control signal on the basis of the detected data. A sporting apparatus control device using an optical sensor is composed of: an optical recognition unit(100) attached on a body part of the user; a reading unit(114) connected to the optical recognition unit to convert an optical signal outputted from the optical recognition unit, into an electrical signal; an operation unit(130) generating an exercise signal of the user by calculating the signal outputted from the reading unit; and a microprocessor(119) generating a control signal for controlling load of a sporting apparatus matching to the calculated exercise signal of the operation unit. The optical recognition unit comprises a projector(110) generating an optical signal; a light receiver(112) receiving the optical signal generated from the projector; an elastic unit(113) installed at the projector or the light receiver, to dispose selectively the projector and the light receiver on the same axis according to the motion of the user by applying elasticity; and a band that a user puts on. One of the projector and the light receiver is installed at the band by the elastic unit and the other is fixed.
