A transfer press system and a control method thereof are provided to permit a finger to load a panel in an accurate and stable way by forming the space for entry of the finger. A transfer press system includes an operating die face unit(30), an air compressor(53), first to fourth sensors(41 to 44), a crank angle sensor(63), solenoid valves(55,57), and a controller(65). The operating die face unit includes a plurality of die face blocks(31) arranged on a blank holder(11), and forms a space for entry of a finger by moving the die face blocks in a horizontal direction through an operating actuator(35). The air compressor is attached to the operating actuator through a plurality of pneumatic pipelines(49,51). The first sensor is mounted on an inner surface of a lower half(3) to sense a panel(1a). The second and third sensors are mounted inside and outside the blank holder to sense the forward and backward movement of the die face block. The fourth sensor is mounted on one side of the finger to sense the panel loaded on the finger. The crank angle sensor is mounted on one side of a crank shaft(61) to sense a crank angle. The solenoid valves are mounted on the respective pneumatic pipelines to control opening/closing of the pneumatic pipelines. The controller is arranged to control opening/closing of the solenoid valves in accordance with the signals output from the first to fourth sensors and the crank angle sensor.
