A refrigerator is provided to drive any one of blower fans for freezing and refrigerating compartments at a higher speed and the other one at a lower speed when a blower fan for an auxiliary storing chamber is driven than when not driven, and to open a chilled air outlet of the auxiliary storing chamber when the blower fan for the auxiliary storing chamber is driven while closing it when not driven. A refrigerator includes blower fans(40a,40b) for freezing and refrigerating compartments(15a,15b) to blow chilled air generated in evaporators(30a,30b) to the compartments formed in a main cabinet(10), wherein a transmission part changes the rotation speed of the blower fans. An auxiliary cabinet(60) is formed with a chilled air inlet(67) for introducing the chilled air of the freezing compartment, and a chilled air outlet(69) for discharging the chilled air to the evaporator of the refrigerating compartment, wherein the auxiliary cabinet has an auxiliary storing chamber(65) defined in the refrigerating compartment. A blower fan(70) blows the chilled air of the freezing compartment to the auxiliary storing chamber. A control part controls the transmission part in such a manner that the transmission part drives the freezing compartment blower fan at a higher speed and the refrigerating compartment blower fan at a lower speed when the auxiliary storing chamber blower fan is driven than when not driven. A damper(80) is installed at the chilled air outlet for opening and closing the outlet in response to starting and stopping of the auxiliary storing chamber blower fan, respectively, under the control of the control part.
