PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Nb<SB>3</SB>Sn superconducting wiring material capable of minimizing an alternate current loss without losing a desirable critical current density and enabling its application to a superconducting magnet available in NMR analysis equipment and a precursor required for fabricating the Nb<SB>3</SB>Sn superconducting wiring material. SOLUTION: This superconducting wiring material fabrication precursor is used to fabricate an Nb<SB>3</SB>Sn superconducting wiring material by an internal Sn method. In this precursor, either Sn or Sn group alloy core is placed at the center, its surrounding is provided with a layer composed of a Cu or Cu group alloy and its periphery is provided with a roll laminate formed by lapping an Nb or Nb group alloy sheet and a Cu or Cu group alloy sheet. In addition, multiple primary composite wire materials having stabilization copper layers at their peripheries are bundled and inserted into a pipe composed of the Cu or Cu group alloy for diameter reduction and the average thickness of the roll laminate in the final shape after diameter reduction is controlled to be less than or equal to 60μm.
