PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle traffic system and a vehicle travel controller suitable for the vehicle traffic system for reducing a footprint of a communication device installed in every closed section. SOLUTION: In this vehicle traffic system in which a vehicle group X capable of automatic travelling travels on a travel road divided into a plurality of closed sections, a communication coil 1 transmitting a stop signal for stopping the vehicle group X and a communication coil 2 transmitting an advance signal for advancing the vehicle group X are installed in every closed section. The communication coil 1 is installed on the closer side in the traveling direction of the vehicle group X at a predetermined interval from the communication coil 2. The vehicle traffic system is provided with a means controlling travel of the vehicle group X so that the vehicle group X receiving the stop signal from the communication coil 1 stops in an area where the advance signal can be received from the communication coil 2.
