PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in image quality due to numerical error diffusion during processing of image data based on a velocity field. SOLUTION: Velocity field information showing a spatial distribution of velocity components is stored in a velocity field accumulation part 15. In an image generation part 17, the velocity field information read from the velocity field accumulation part 15 is substituted into an advective diffusion equation, and based on image intensity information of the inputted image data, a CIP method is applied for solving the advective diffusion equation. In this way, high-speed image processing can be carried out while reducing numerical errors. In a velocity field synthesis part 13, a plurality of pieces of velocity field information are read from the velocity field accumulation part 15 to be synthesized together.
