PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data erasing system which can erase data from a personal computer PC, etc., appropriately without using an exclusive start-up disk. SOLUTION: A management PC transmits an activation instruction to a user PC (step S302), so that the user's PC power source is turned ON (step S401). The management PC transmits a boot image to the user PC in which the power source is turned ON (step S303). The user PC starts by using the boot image (step S403). The user PC which started transmits the identification information to the management PC (step S404). User's PC is authenticated based on the identification information (step S304), and an erasure program is transmitted to the authenticated user PC from the management PC (step S305).
