The domestic appliance (1) comprises an adsorption unit (2) with an adsorption container (3) that holds a solid adsorbing agent and a heating unit (4) for heating the adsorbing agent, at least one phase transition container (5, 8, 11) with a connection line (6, 9, 12) that connects the latter to the adsorption container (3) and a volatile adsorptive that can be reversibly adsorbed by the adsorbing agent, in addition to a process air conduit (15), in which the adsorption container (3) is configured as a heat exchanger for heating an air stream that flows in the process air conduit (15) and that is supplied to the adsorption container (3). The adsorption unit (2) reversibly and alternately adopts a first operating mode, in which the adsorption container (3) is supplied with an air stream that flows in the process air conduit (15) and adsorbs the adsorptive that is evaporating in the phase transition container or containers (5, 8, 11), or a second operating mode, in which the adsorbing agent is heated by the heating unit (4), desorbing the adsorptive and the desorbed adsorptive then condenses in the phase transition container (5, 8, 11). The adsorption container (3) is also supplied with an air stream that flows in the process air conduit (15) in the second operating mode. |
