摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new porous honeycomb structure functionalized more highly in comparison with the conventional ones, a method for manufacturing the porous honeycomb structure and an air purifier using the porous honeycomb structure. <P>SOLUTION: The porous honeycomb structure having photocatalysis is a silica forming in which fine powder having photocatalysis is dispersed. The method for manufacturing the porous honeycomb structure having photocatalysis comprises a step (a) of mixing an ion exchange resin in a sodium silicate aqueous solution to prepare silica sol, a step (b) of removing the mixed ion exchange resin from the prepared silica sol and adjusting the pH of the ion exchange resin-removed silica sol, a step (c) of dispersing the fine powder having photocatalysis in the pH-adjusted silica sol, a step (d) of gelling the fine powder-dispersed silica sol to produce silica wet gel and a step (e) of freezing the produced silica wet gel.
