<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for suitably adding a reducer into exhaust gases in an exhaust emission control device of an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device of an internal combustion engine comprises a fuel adding valve for adding a fuel into the exhaust gases on the upstream side of a filter disposed in the exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine. In the exhaust emission control device, a cylinder pressure when the exhaust valve of the cylinder of the internal combustion engine is opened is detected (S101). Based on the detected cylinder pressure, the flow velocity and the temperature of the exhaust gases passing through the fuel adding position of the fuel adding valve in the exhaust passage is estimated (S102).
