<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and an image processing method which can attain a high decompression processing speed through parallel decompression processing, by means of hardware and software and at the same time, can prevent a large difference from being made between post correction processing results depending on decompression processing implemented by a decompression processing method by hardware or software. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus and the image processing method execute operating procedures for detecting feature data for determining correction processing contents, that is, production of a sampling image for implementing sampling, and the sampling, detection of the feature data on the basis of a result of the sampling, and calculation of statistics, by using only one of the hardware decompression processing method and the software decompression processing method, at all times. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
