PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an area when providing a light emitting body for providing light to an object field, in an imaging apparatus for imaging the object field. SOLUTION: In an imaging section 3 included in an imaging apparatus 1, an imaging device 73 is disposed on a substrate 81, and also penetrating holes 97, 99, 101 and 103 are formed thereon. Further, on the opposite side of the substrate 81 to the side having the disposed imaging device 73, namely on a back face 109, a light emitting body 87 and a shield case 93 are disposed. Because of the disposition of the light emitting body 87 on the opposite side of the imaging device 73, it becomes possible to reduce the area required for disposing the light emitting body 87. Also, even in case of the disposition on the back face 109, it is possible to provide light to the object field through the penetrating holes 97-103, because the light from the light emitting body 87 is supplied to the penetrating holes 97-103 after reflected on the shield case 93.
