METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING POLYMER FILM, POLYMER FILM, DEFLECTING PLATE, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a polymer film which is excellent in uniformity by preventing generation of uneveness in its thickness. SOLUTION: A dope including a polymer and a solvent is prepared. A cast film 69 is formed by flow-casting the dope from a cast die 43 onto a cast band 46 while forming a cast bead 100 thereon. A cast part 105 is formed by partitioning the area including the cast die 43 and a decompression chamber 68 by a first bay 102 and a second bay 103. The volume of the cast part 105 is 0.80 m3to 300.00 m3. The decompression chamber 68 is provided in the rear of the cast bead 100 to decompress it so that the peak in the air pressure vibration of the cast part 105 is lower than 2.00 Pa. An air-shielding member 101 is provided between the cast die 43 and the decompression chamber 68 to block the airstream coming from the rear of the cast bead 100. By preventing uneveness in viscosity which is caused by the airstream accompanying the running cast band 46, the cast film 69 is obtained with its uneven thickness prevented, thereby a polymer film excellent in uniformity is obtained.
