PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrooptical device of liquid crystal or the like, wherein heat radiation of a driving IC chip on an external substrate is improved. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device 100 is provided with a liquid crystal panel 110 having: a TFT array substrate 10 and a counter substrate 20 between which a liquid crystal layer 50 is held; and dust-proofing substrates 410, 420 which are respectively disposed on the side not facing the liquid crystal layer 50 held between the TFT array substrate 10 and the counter substrate 20. The liquid crystal device 100 is further provided with an FPC 501 connected to the liquid crystal panel 110, and an IC chip 510 which is disposed on the FPC 501, for driving the liquid crystal panel 110.
