PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relatively easy and inexpensive structure of spline fitting and connecting a side gear 10 (11) of a differential 1 to a drive shaft 2 (3) while eliminating play of a spline fitted portion in the rotating direction. SOLUTION: The drive shaft 2 (3) is spline fitted to the side gear 10 (11) of the differential 1 in a loosely fitted state while a wedge shaped screw 20 is temporarily threaded to the inner-end center thereof in the embedded state. A screwing tool 30 is inserted through working openings 12c, 6c provided in a differential carrier 12 and a differential case 6 of the differential 1 and the wedge shaped screw 20 is additionally fastened thereto, whereby the drive shaft 2 (3) with its inner-end outer diameter enlarged is just or tightly fitted to the spline fitted portion.
