PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image diagnosis support method and device capable of more highly precisely extracting a lung emphysema area taking into consideration the extracting error of a CT value due to gravity. SOLUTION: The medical image diagnosis support method comprises a lung field area extracting processing step S1, a trachea/bronchial area data eliminating step S2 in an extracting area data, a gut tube eliminating processing executing step S3, a lung field area dividing step S4, a threshold value setting processing step S5 for obtaining a threshold value setting curve dividing so as to form a plurality of partial spaces in a direction in which gravity acts, a step S6 executing lung emphysema area detecting processing using the CT value from the threshold value setting curve, and a step S7 of calculating out at least one of the area, the average value, the standard deviation, the upper limit value or lower limit value of a 95% confidence interval of an average value of the lung field area or the area, the ratio, the average value, the standard deviation the upper limit value or lower limit value of the 95% confidence interval of an average value of the lung field area in each tomogram unit from the extracted lung field area, the divided lung field area, and the support information of the extracted lung emphysema area.
