A gallery structure of a piston is provided to set the inlet size of a gallery to the maximum and to improve cooling efficiency of the piston by providing a semi-circular cut groove at each of front ends of plural pieces of a cover plate, which form a ring shape when connected, as the inlet. A gallery structure of a piston includes a hollow open part(5) formed along the inner circumference of a head unit, a ring shaped cover plate connected to an inlet of the hollow open part so as to finish the open part as a closed space, where the cover plate includes a plurality of split pieces(7a) and a cut groove(7b) is formed on both sides of the piece.
