A liquid crystal display device is provided to insert a side of an LCD panel into a groove of a mold frame for preventing movement thereof and fix the other side by a supporting bar type cap, thereby fixing the LCD panel in a stabilized structure without using a top chassis and simplifying assembling work of the liquid crystal display device. A liquid crystal display device includes an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel(10) for image display, a PCB(Printed Circuit Board)(20) having driving ICs(Integrated Circuits) for driving the LCD panel, and a tape carriage package(30) connecting a side of the PCB to a side of the LCD panel. A backlight unit(67) supplies light to the LCD panel. A mold frame(60) receives the LCD panel and the backlight unit, and formed with a groove(62) at least at a side for securing an edge of the LCD panel. The groove has a first extension part extended by a predetermined height from the edge of the mold frame, and a second extension part extended by a predetermined length from an end of the first extension part. The mold frame has protrusions(65) at another side to be coupled with holes or supporting grooves of the tape carriage package. A cap surface-contacts the tape carriage package and is coupled with the protrusions. |
