POLYPROPYLENE FILAMENT AND ITS SPINNING METHOD FOR IMPROVED SPINNABILITY

A polypropylene filament and a method for producing the filament are provided to improve the uniformity in thickness of the filament, by using organized clay and polypropylene as a main component and a compatibilizer as an adding agent. A polypropylene/composite nano-material filament is produced by adding organized clay and a compatibilizer into polypropylene resin and spinning the resultant materials. The added amount of the organized clay and the compatibilizer is less than 5.0 wt%. The organized clay has a layered silicate structure. The compatibilizer has a functional group for forming a hydrogen bond with the organized clay.
