A system for positioning and managing a container in real time by using RF(Radio Frequency) is provided to manage freight in real time by alarming the malfunction of container for taking an action for the malfunction. A system for positioning and managing a container in real time by using RF includes a container tag(100), a reader(210) and a management server(320). The container tag is adhered on the container, and collects and transmits management information for a corresponding container. The reader wirelessly transmits the management information for the container and current position information to a local server or a main server. The management server stores each kind of container information received from the reader and outputs the stored information, an operation state, and the result of event occurrences.
