An information system (10) is provided that enables a user to access their work roster or make time off requests from a mobile communications device (11). The information system (10) includes an internet capable mobile communications device (11) for accessing a database (14) on a remote server (13). The user can query the database (14). The requested data is coded into an internet programming language which can be interpreted by a browser (12) on the mobile communications device (11). The coded data is thus transmitted from the server (13) to the mobile communications device (11) for interpretation and display by its browser (12). |
