A heat exchanger comprising an end plate 100 connected to a header (310, fig 3) and having a plurality of hollow cylindrical protrusions (collars) 120 extending from a surface 111 of the plate 100 and configured to receive a tube 150, and each protrusion 120 having a first portion 130 having a first wall thickness t1 and a second portion 140 having a second wall thickness t2 less than the first wall thickness t1. The plate 100 and protrusions 120 may be a unitary construction and made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). The header (310) may be connected to the plate 100 via a side wall (210) by a barbed edge (230, fig 2) of the side wall (210) engaging with a stepped feature (220) in a longitudinal groove 160. An o-ring (250) may be located in the groove 160 to seal the perimeter of the plate 100. Walls (240a and 240b) of the plate 100 either side of the groove 160 may be flexible and permit the stepped feature (220) to be displaced as the barbed edge (230) is inserted. |
