A new method is disclosed herein for the creation of a tri-leaflet bio-prosthesis valve, which is derived from seal cardiac valve (pulmonary or aortic valve) and destined to replace malfunctioning human cardiac valves. Extracted from seal, said novel valve is placed on a fixative agent meant to sterilize, fix, and increase the strength of the leaflets as well as reduce the antigenicity of the novel biological valve liable to be -at a later step- stent mounted or unstented. Compared to existing porcine aortic valves and valves made of bovine pericardium, the seal valve is by nature a tri-leaflet valve with symmetric ventricles (aortic or pulmonary valve) and exhibits significant advantages. The enhanced thickness of the leaflets boosts the valve durability in time and reduces hazards in case of repeated replacement of the biological valve. Additionally, a tri-leaflet valve may be produced by seal pericardium and fascia lata. |
