SELF-LUMINESCENCE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY USING ONE POLARIZER

A self-luminescence LCD using a single polarizer is provided to form a luminous layer in the shape of quantum rods for serving as a fluorescent layer and a polarizer simultaneously, so that only one polarizer is required for the LCD. A self-luminescence LCD using a single polarizer includes front and rear substrates(19,11) facing each other with a distance from each other, and a liquid crystal layer(15) implanted between the substrates. A backlight part(20) is provided to the rear substrate. A luminous layer(30) is exited by light radiated from the backlight part for self-luminescence by containing luminous materials, wherein the luminescence substances are exited by predetermined linear polarization light in a predetermined direction to emit linearly polarized light. A polarizer(25) passes the linearly polarized light from incident light.
