An enhanced ultrasound image display is provided to identify a special feature of the heart with an ultrasound image on the basis of a previously created electric activation map of the heart using a special heart catheter for image capture. A computer-supporting method includes the steps of: inserting at least one probe having a position sensor(46) into a heart(24); determining each spatial coordinate of different locations in the heart with the probe to decide a three-dimensional space; capturing a standard image of the heart; correlating a position on the standard image with corresponding positions in the three-dimensional space to decide standard spatial coordinate of the standard image; capturing a gated ultrasonic image of the heart; registering the ultrasonic image in the three-dimensional space; and automatically identifying special features on the ultrasonic image by correlating the standard spatial coordinate with the corresponding coordinates of the ultrasonic image. |
