PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent blur from occurring on an image on a recording medium and to reduce power consumption in an image forming apparatus where a 1st image formed on a 1st image carrier is transferred to a 2nd image carrier and then a 2nd image formed on the 1st image carrier and the 1st image on the 2nd image carrier are transferred to the respective surfaces of the recording medium respectively so as to fix both images. SOLUTION: The 2nd image carrier 10 and a fixing means 30 having fixing members 18A and 18B holding the recording medium P carried on the 2nd image carrier 10 in between and fixing the images transferred to the respective surfaces of the recording medium P with the action of heat and pressure are used, and also the heat of the 2nd image carrier 10 is utilized so as to transfer the respective images. |
