<p>An irrigation/aspiration tip adapted to be mounted on a phacoemulsification handpiece is provided. The tip comprises an aspirating tube (114) comprising a shaft portion (133) and a distal end portion (130) and an infusion sleeve (120) coaxially mounted around the aspirating tube, wherein the shaft portion (133) has a reduced diameter relative to that of the distal end portion (130). The diameter of the shaft can vary depending on the incision size preferred by the surgeon, and the diameter of the enlarged distal end portion will vary depending on the size of the phacocmulsification tip preferred by the surgeon.</p> |
