An apparatus and a method for converting a file format of work data having position information of electronic components are provided to enhance work efficiency by reducing hours of work required for setting equipments. An apparatus for converting a file format of work data having position information of electronic components includes an interface unit(41), an extracting unit, a display unit(44) and a controller(42). The interface unit is used for connecting a computer system of a user to equipments based on work data. The extracting unit extracts information data from the work data so as to drive the equipments. The display unit displays information data, which is extracted from the extracting unit, in a matrix format. The controller controls the interface, extracting, and display units.
