A free pulse timer for a dust collector and a control method of a dust collector using the same are provided to have an advantage capable of controlling pulsing and an outlet damper using one substrate, and control the pulsing and the outlet damper in a state that the free pulse timer is connected to an automatic RUN input terminal connected to a microprocessor part. A free pulse timer for a dust collector comprises: an operation signal input terminal(21) into which an operating signal of the dust collector is inputted, and which is connected to the microprocessor part; an outlet damper manual input terminal(22) into which a signal for manual control of an outlet damper is inputted, and which is consisted of 16 terminals and connected to the microprocessor part; a pulse time manual input terminal(23) into which a signal for manual control of a pulse time is inputted, and which is consisted of 16 terminals and connected to the microprocessor part; a time setting binary-coded switch input terminal(24) into which a timing for delaying or promptly operating a timing of the pulse is inputted, or which is connected to the microprocessor part; a microprocessor part(10) to which the input terminals are connected, and which controls the dust collector using inputted values; a flexible numeric display unit(30) for displaying flexible numeric values by receiving a set value and a current state transmitted from the microprocessor part; a communication port(40) for allowing an external unit to receive information transmitted from the microprocessor part; an outlet damper output terminal(50) which transmits a control signal outputted from the microprocessor part, and which is consisted of 16 terminals; an outlet damper relay output terminal(60) which connects a control signal outputted from the microprocessor part to the external unit, and which is consisted of 16 terminals; a pulse time common output terminal(70) consisted of 16 terminals for transmitting a common control signal outputted from the microprocessor part to the dust collector; a pulse time output terminal(80) consisted of 20 terminals for transmitting to the dust collector a pulse timing outputted from the microprocessor part; a pulse time relay output terminal(90) which connects a control signal outputted from the microprocessor part to the external unit, and which is consisted of 16 terminals; and a relay output terminal(100) which transmits normal and abnormal operating outputs of the microprocessor part and a central processing unit to the outside, and which is consisted of two terminals.
