A liquid tank type cold shock testing device (13), wherein a low temperature tank (15) and a high temperature tank (16) are installed on the underside of the device body (14) of the cold shock testing device parallel with each other through a heat-insulation layer (17). A closed box (25) is installed above the low temperature tank (15) and the high temperature tank (16) and an opening part (26) is formed in the upper surface thereof. A closing cover (37) capable of covering the opening part (26) in a closed state is installed above the box (25), and vertically driven by a cover drive mechanism (41). A horizontal drive mechanism (39) is installed on the closing cover (37) to laterally drive a fixed plate (34). A vertical drive mechanism (32) is installed on the fixed plate (34) to move a specimen cage (31) downward. Thus, with the box (25) closed by the closing cover (37), the specimen cage (31) can be repeatedly immersed in the low temperature tank (15) and the high temperature tank (16).
