WATER SOFTENER WITH IMPROVED TEMPERATURE RESPONSE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

A water softener is provided to have the improved temperature response at an outlet of the water softener by simultaneously supplying raw water that has not been softened together with soft water into the water softener in the case wherein a user changes a temperature of raw water supplied in a mixed water softener. A water softener(10) comprises: a water softening tank(18) comprising an ion exchange resin that converts raw water into soft water; a first feeding line(48) for feeding the raw water from an inlet(44) into the water softening tank; a first valve(36) installed on the first feeding line to control whether or not the first feeding line is communicated; a second feeding line(50) for feeding the raw water from the inlet to an outlet(72) without passing through the water softening tank; a second valve(34) installed on the second feeding line to control whether or not the second feeding line is communicated; an inlet temperature sensor(22) for measuring a temperature of raw water at the outlet; an outlet temperature sensor(32) installed at the outlet to measure a temperature of water at the outlet; and a controller for controlling the temperature sensors such that raw water that has not passed through the water softening tank is supplied into the outlet by opening the second valve in the case wherein a difference between a temperature of raw water sensed at the inlet temperature sensor and a temperature of water sensed at the outlet temperature sensor is deviated from a predetermined range by receiving signals of the temperature sensors.
