The cloth has a double-sided structure with a pile fabric on one side and a smooth fabric on the other side. An independent claim is also included for the cloth, the smooth fabric being formed from interwoven warp and weft yarns, the pile fabric comprising a base cloth also formed from interwoven warp and weft yarns, at least some of the warp and/or weft yarns (A) in the smooth fabric being interwoven with at least some of the warp and/or weft yarns (B) in the pile fabric in order to bind these two fabrics together. Additional pile yarns (3, 4) are woven into the pile fabric and protrude from the opposite side of the latter to the smooth fabric. At least some of the warp yarns in the smooth fabric extend into the pile fabric, where they are interwoven with at least some of the weft yarns in the latter and at least some of the weft yarns in the pile fabric extend into the smooth fabric, where they are interwoven with at least some of the warp yarns in the latter. The pile fabric contains 10-30 weft yarns per cm.
