WIDE DYNAMIC RANGE IMAGE SENSOR AND PIXEL ARRAY OF IMAGE SENSOR

An image sensor and a pixel array of the image sensor are provided to form an image having a wide illumination range by obtaining images exposed in different exposure times using pixel pairs having different exposure degrees and coupling the obtained images. An image sensor comprises a pixel array(20), a row driver(10) for generating a driving signal necessary for operating the pixel array, and an output circuit(30) for receiving a sensing signal outputted from the pixel array to separate even-numbered column signals and odd-numbered column signals. The pixel array(20) includes unit pixel groups arranged in a lattice type, wherein each of the unit pixel groups is composed of a plurality of pixels having different exposure times.
