A method and a device for filling a powder and granular material in compression molding. The method comprises the steps of carrying the powder and granular material in the compression molding by utilizing an air suction force and thinly, uniformly, and rapidly filling it in a female mold. The device comprises a suction cup (21) horizontally movable in a space between a material feed hopper (2) and the female mold (34) and vertically movably held by a movable cylinder (7) rotatable by 180°. The powder and granular material is put flat in the suction cup (21), the suction cup is sucked by activating a vacuum pump (14) and carried to the female mold (34) and inverted, and the powder and granular material is fallen into the mold by releasing the sucking.
