An air cleaner is provided to compact an equipment, lower a coat of the equipment, and effectively remove alien substances contained in air by enabling a rotor and a fan to rotate through one drive part. An air cleaner comprises: a body(100a); a fan(400) mounted on an inner part of the body; a reservoir(600) which is disposed within the body, and in which water is stored; a rotor(300) that is rotated and partially immersed into the water stored in the reservoir; and a gearing means for gearing the rotor with the fan, wherein the gearing means includes a drive part(710), a first bevel gear(711) installed on a rotating shaft of the drive part, and a second bevel gear(730) engaged with the first bevel gear, and a rotation shaft(340) of the rotor is installed perpendicularly to a shaft on which the fan is rotated. The air cleaner further comprises an anion generator(800) disposed within the body to contain anions in air that passes through the body.
