An apparatus and a method for providing relay information using a location information service are provided to recognize a location of a user, transmit relay information to the user, and transmit particular information about the relay information when the particular information about the relay information is requested from the user. A contents provider(150) transmits relay information, and when the relay information needs to be updated, the contents provider(150) updates the relay information and transmits the updated information. A provider server(140) receives the relay information and the updated relay information and broadcast them. When there is a request for particular information with respect to the relay information or the updated relay information, the provider server(140) transmits response information with respect to the request. A user terminal(110) receives the broadcast relay information and the updated relay information. When the user requests the particular information with respect to the relay information and the updated relay information, the user terminal(110) transmits the request to the provider server(140) and then receives the response information.
