A radiant heat intercepting type algae control device is provided to prevent algae from multiplying by forming a ventilation space in a floating part floated on the surface of water, thereby reducing an influence of the algae control device exerted on water temperature. A radiant heat intercepting type algae control device comprises a body(1) which consists upper and lower convex planes that are symmetrical with respect to the central part when a horizontal cross-section of the body contacting the surface of water is a central part(A), and which has a floating part(2) formed in an upper part thereof and a submersion part(3) formed in a lower part thereof, wherein a ventilation space(5) is formed in the floating part such that the ventilation space is spaced apart from the central part in a predetermined width, the ventilation space is formed in a laterally depressed shape by cutting out any point on both side faces of the body between the floating part and the central part in a predetermined depth from an outer side end to an inner side of the body, and a water passing space(6) is formed in the submersion part such that the water passing space is spaced apart from the central part in a predetermined width. The body has a sealed internal space part(4) formed therein to obtain buoyancy by air filled in the internal space part.
