PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulator that can be assembled to stator teeth with high accurately and can increase the productivity in a rotary electric machine, and to provide the rotary electric machine having the insulator, a method of manufacturing the rotary electric machine, and a motor-driven vehicle. SOLUTION: The insulator 140 can be attached to the stator teeth, while a coil is wound, and comprises a first member 141 having a tubular portion including an outer-periphery surface in contact with the coil; a second member 142, that is positioned at the inner-periphery side of the tubular portion and includes a wall surface for forming an opening 144 for receiving the stator teeth along with the inner-periphery surface of the tubular portion; and an engagement section 143 for adjusting the width L2 of the opening 144.
