PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely perform user desired remote control in a remote control system even if a user forgets to transmit electronic mail for remote control. SOLUTION: A remote control system 1 comprises a mobile terminal 2 capable of transmitting/receiving electronic mail for remote control and a home server 4 connecting the mobile terminal 2 and a home electric appliance 3. A control section 46 of the home server 4 refers to an operation table and transmits acknowledgement mail containing an indication arraying operation contents associated with the present time to the mobile terminal 2 at the time. The mobile terminal 2 transmits response mail containing operation contents selected by the user based on the indication of the acknowledgement mail. The home server 4 controls the home electric appliance 3 in accordance with contents of the response mail. Therefore, even in a case where the user has forgotten to transmit electronic mail for remote control, the acknowledgement mail is transmitted to the user, accordingly the user can recognizes that he/she has forgotten to transmit the electronic mail, and the home electric appliance 3 can be remotely controlled without fail.
