PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize an operation for charging a battery in a charging circuit and its charging method for properly driving a charger of a cellular phone, having a low charge current supplying capability. SOLUTION: The charging method for charging the battery 1 from a charging power supply by using a constant-current/constant voltage charging system includes a process for gradually increasing a charge current at a predetermined current level, and charging a constant current, when the constant current is charged; and a process for stopping the charge current from increasing, holding the predetermined minimum voltage, and continuing to charge the battery, if it detects that the voltage supplied from the charging power supply will become the predetermined minimum chargeable voltage defined by the battery.
