PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of providing image display high in image quality, luminance and quality by improving mechanical strength and display quality of a display panel by optimizing the length, arrangement interval and arrangement quantity of spacers for every screen size of the display panel. SOLUTION: When it is assumed that the required length, the lateral effective display region length of the display panel, the vertical effective display region length of the display panel, the lateral arrangement quantity, the number of vertical arrangement lines, the lateral arrangement interval, and the vertical arrangement interval are W, H, Qx, Qy, Gx and Gy, respectively, the plurality of spacers 12 are arranged by satisfying the relationships of the lateral arrangement quantity Qx=(W+Gx+5)/(L+Gx), the vertical arrangement interval Gy=-1.5Gx+52.5, and the number of vertical arrangement lines Qy=H/Gy.
