PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movable bed gasification furnace capable of performing proper gasification by surely preventing bridging and blow-by of wastes in the movable bed gasification furnace. SOLUTION: A plurality of box-shaped pressing bodies 2 having respectively having a pressing face 3 of a prescribed length along the circumferential direction of a furnace inner wall 10a are disposed in the circumferential direction at a height position where a thermal decomposition band A2 of the gasification furnace 10 is formed, the bridge formed by advancing of the pressing bodies 2 in the core direction is pressed and broken by the pressing faces 3, the pressing bodies 2 have a length not getting out from insertion holes 6 at their rear ends when the pressing bodies 2 advance most, and the pressing faces 3 are positioned at a position retracting from the furnace inner wall 10a of an upper part when they retract to the insertion holes 6 formed on the furnace inner wall 10a.
