PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle display device which easily carries out initial regulation of image quality of a display part according to an object car model on which the display device is mounted, and also to provide a method for mounting an on-vehicle display device on a vehicle. SOLUTION: This on-vehicle display device 1 comprises: a display part 7; a storage part 4 for storing a plurality of image quality setting informations, each thereof being associated with a plurality of image quality setting values; a selection part 5 for selecting any one of the plurality of image quality setting informations; and a control unit 2 for reading the image quality setting value corresponding to the image quality setting information selected in the selection part 5 from the storage part 4 and conducting the image quality regulation of the display part 7 based on the read image quality setting value. By selecting the image quality setting information from the selection part 5, the control unit 2 reads the corresponding image quality setting value from the storage part 4, and the image quality regulation of the display part 7 is carried out based on the read image quality setting value, whereby the initial regulation of the image quality of the display part 7 is easily carried out.
