PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely separate and efficiently cut a sheet while reducing damage of a cutter and a receiving table. SOLUTION: This sheet cutting apparatus includes: the receiving table 2 having a cutting surface 2A on the upper surface; the cutter 3 for cutting the sheet 1 to be cut; and a cutter driving mechanism 4 for vertically reciprocating the cutter 3. Further the cutting apparatus includes: a conveying belt 5 for placing the sheet 1 to be cut thereon and transferring the same; a conveying mechanism 6 for driving the conveying belt 5 so that the sheet 1 to be cut passes the cutting surface 2A at a predetermined speed; and a supply mechanism 7 for supplying the sheet 1 to be cut on the conveying belt 5 at a predetermined speed. The cutter driving mechanism 4 includes a vertical feed mechanism 4B for moving the cutter 3 in the transfer direction of the sheet 1 to be cut, wherein the cutter 3 is moved in the transfer direction of the sheet 1 to be cut by the vertical feed mechanism 4B, and the cutter 3 is lowered to approach the cutting surface 2A of the receiving table 2 to cut the sheet 1 to be cut transferred on the cutting surface 2A of the receiving table 2.
