PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the invention of a simple mechanism that can stably hold a roof above the seat of a wheelchair, change its inclination in the forward or backward direction relative to the seat and further fold it up. SOLUTION: A movable member is removably and selectively held at either upper or lower position by the fixing members located in the rear of the seat. A roof frame is rotatably connected with the movable member to rotate for switching the state that the roof covers the seat and that it becomes folded up. An operation arm is provided, which is connected with the movable members and detachably engages with engagements formed at the roof frame. When the roof comes to cover the upper part of the seat after the operation arm engages with a first engagement, and when the operation arm engages with a second engagement and the roof becomes inclined forward and then the operation arm comes off from both engagements, the roof should become rotatable in the state of folded up in front of the movable member.
