PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food material grater implement with a simple structure capable of effectively and simply and sanitarily grating food materials such as Japanese radishes or carrots with a relatively light force in ordinary households. SOLUTION: The food materials can be safely grated with a relatively light force without directly touching the food materials while using the principle of a lever (a wheel shaft) by placing the food materials between upper and lower blades of teeth, relatively rotating members having these blades or teeth around a moving rotating shaft or relatively moving the same. The efficiency of grating can be enhanced by constituting the grating teeth by basically protruding the grate with two-dimensional wire width in a direction perpendicular to the planar face. On the other hand, while the advantage in a safety and sanitary aspects may be sacrificed, a method moving the lower grating tooth side using the principle by one hand while holding the food materials from above by the other hand may be used.
