FLAT-PANEL DISPLAY UNIT WITH GLASS-MADE DISPLAY PANEL AND METHOD OF SEPARATING THE SAME

A technique for easily separating of panel and chassis stuck together by means of a pressure sensitive adhesive member. There is provided flat-panel display unit (50) having panel (1) of mainly glass and chassis (2) of a metal, etc. stuck together by means of pressure sensitive adhesive member (3), which flat-panel display unit is so structured that thermally expansive member (4) is disposed in region (5) between the panel (1) and the chassis (2) in a fashion avoiding superimposition on the pressure sensitive adhesive member (3). At the time of unit separation/disassembly, the thermally expansive member (4) is heated so as to induce a thermal expansion thereof producing a detaching force. By virtue of the detaching force, the panel (1) and the chassis (2) are separated from each other.
